Identify whether you need measured quantities, a priced estimate, a comparison of bids or a review of a defined trade scope. Include the project location, bid deadline and the format your team needs.
Provide the drawing issue date, specifications, schedules and relevant addenda. Mark superseded sheets and identify alternates separately. A takeoff based on incomplete documents needs explicit qualifications.
Keep material descriptions, measurement units and drawing references together. Distinguish measured quantities from waste, laps, procurement allowances and items that cannot be measured from the supplied plans.
